Suddenly, do you know about terraced rice fields?
If you do, have you ever actually visited to see those breathtaking views?
Terraced rice fields are rice paddies built in steps along the mountain slopes.
The Reihoku area, located in the northern part of Kochi City, has many terraced rice field spots♪
Among the many, let me introduce my favorite: “Tosa Shibakari no Sato” in Takasu, Tosa Town!
First, take the expressway! Exit at Otoyo IC, then take Route 439 and enter Route 16. It takes about 35 minutes by car from Otoyo IC to arrive!

I was born and raised in a nature-rich environment, so I thought I was used to rice fields—but I never realized they could be this beautiful…!
That day, the weather was unstable with rain, clear skies, and clouds coming and going, so I didn’t expect much. But when the sunlight broke through the clouds, it was as if a god had descended… simply magical! (´艸｀*)☆彡
And with the Tosa Shibakari Song (the green box with buttons ①–④) playing as background music, looking over the terraced rice fields felt like wandering into a Japanese folktale…
The charm of terraced rice fields is that the scenery changes completely with each season.
In spring (around late May), the water-filled paddies sparkle like mirrors.
In summer (around June–July), the lush green rice plants cover the fields.
In autumn (around September), the golden rice ears droop, and during harvest (around October), a completely different world spreads before you compared to summer.

いきなりですが、棚田をご存じですか？
知ってるよ～っという方、その素晴らしい景色を見に、足を運んだことがありますか？
山の斜面に階段状にある田んぼ、棚田。
高知市北部に位置する嶺北エリアには棚田スポットがたくさんあります♪
数ある棚田の中でも私のお気に入り、土佐町高須の『土佐柴刈りの里』をご紹介！
まずは高速道路でGO♪ 大豊ICで降り、そこから国道439号から16号に入ります。大豊ICからは車で約35分で到着！

自然豊かな環境で生まれ育った私ですが、見慣れていると思っていた田んぼがこんなに美しいなんて。。。！
この日は雨が降ったりやんだり、晴れ間が見れたりといった不安定なお天気で、あまり期待していなかったのですが、雲の間から差した光は、
まるで神が降臨するかのよう…幻想的！(´艸｀*)☆彡
そして、土佐柴刈唄(①～④までのボタンが付いてる緑色の箱です)をBGMに眺める棚田は、日本昔話の中に迷い込んだ感覚が。。。
棚田の魅力は、季節によって見る風景が全く違う事です。
春(5月下旬頃)には水をはった水面が鏡の様にキラキラ輝き、
稲がグングン育った夏(6,7月頃)には一面緑一色に。
黄金色の稲穂が垂れる秋(9月頃)と、稲刈り(10月頃)の時期は夏の景色とは全く違う世界が広がります。
